Laser cut gift box files, drawn to close square.
60 gift box and storage box designs — finger-jointed, lidded and ready to cut from 3 mm wood.
A box is the most satisfying thing to cut and the least forgiving. What makes a box work is the joints: fingers sized to the material, lids that seat without forcing, and walls that come together square.
What is in this collection
Tea boxes, keepsake boxes, love boxes and general gift boxes, most with decorative cut-out or engraved lids. Every file is supplied as SVG, DXF, CDR, AI, EPS and PDF, with cut, score and engrave on separate colours so it imports cleanly into LightBurn, Glowforge or xTool Creative Space.
Before you cut
- Measure your material. Box joints are drawn for a specific thickness. If yours is different, adjust the slots rather than guessing.
- Check your kerf. A loose box is almost always a kerf problem — here is how to measure it.
- Cut one first. Assemble a single box before cutting a batch.

Questions
Gift Boxes: what people ask
What thickness are the laser cut box files designed for?
The thickness is stated on each listing, and 3 mm plywood or MDF is the most common. For other thicknesses, the slots need adjusting rather than simply scaling the whole box.
Do the box files work with Glowforge and xTool?
Yes. They are supplied as SVG, DXF, CDR, AI, EPS and PDF, with cut, score and engrave on separate colours, so they import into Glowforge, xTool Creative Space and LightBurn.
Why is my laser cut box loose or too tight?
Usually the material is not the thickness the file expects, or kerf has not been compensated. Measure both and adjust the joint offset.
Not quite what you need?
It can be drawn to your dimensions.
